I adopt an eclectic approach to therapy which includes CBT, Solution-Focused and Rogerian. I employ different approaches for different clients. Some clients prefer an approach where the therapist directs the session, others prefer to lead themselves. Furthermore, my unique personal journey has equipped me to understand the various complexities of Trauma/PTSD
Putting your mental health in the hands of the right person is a serious matter. Finding the right therapist can often feel like a daunting ask. Some of you might dismiss the idea of therapy completely due to this uncertainty. Getting into therapy is like embarking on a difficult journey. You need a companion who is competent and who you feel safe with.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I understand that we all have different backgrounds and journeys that lead us to certain places in life; some of us are hoping for relief, while others are searching for growth. When I get calls from clients looking for help, they usually don’t ask me what modality I use, instead they want to know who I am. Therapy is more about the relationship than the method, and this has been proven by countless studies.
